Healing Trip on the Beautiful Gunnison River:

What could be more healing than three days paddling down one of the most scenic stretches of river in Colorado? This trip will take place on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday and offer camping options in beautiful Dominguez Canyon where we will layover on Saturday to hike, enjoy the waterfalls and relax. (Camping in Dominguez Canyon is based on campsite availability.) This trip is ideal for anyone who practices a healing art such as Reiki, massage, energy work, yoga, counseling, coaching, chiropractic, acupuncture, natural or conventional medicine, AND for those who are seeking healing either physically, emotionally or mentally, as well. While we won't necessarily be practicing our healing art on the river, there will be an opportunity to explore the concept of healing with others who share your passion for this topic. Healing encompasses the body, mind and spirit, and all three aspects will be a focus on this trip as we eat healthy organic meals, commune with nature, and discuss healing and health.

Special Features of this Trip:

The menu is super healthy, fresh and organic, prepared by the wonderful folks at The Garden who will be joining us on the river. The discussions will be lead by Tracy Maxwell, a local author, speaker and healing coach. Tracy has been guiding Centennial trips for more than 12 years, and her personal experiences as a three-time cancer survivor, Reiki master and healing coach will inform the conversation about the mind-body-spirit connection. A variety of healing perspectives will be explored throughout the weekend.

Canoeing in Colorado on the Gunnison River will spark your sense of adventure with opportunities for hiking and exploring, floating in your lifejacket and camping along the river’s edge. During this Colorado canoe trip, you will be dwarfed by high walls of red sandstone and shale deposited during the age of the dinosaurs.  These canyons in the Colorado Plateau are truly magnificent and not soon forgotten. Massive cottonwoods stand on many river bends supporting the huge nests of blue herons, hawks and eagles. You may hike into Dominguez Canyon, Colorado’s newest designated Wilderness Area, one of the most beautiful stops on the river. Hiking into the canyon will reveal deep, cool swimming holes, waterfalls and many ancient Indian petroglyphs (rock art panels). This 3-day trip is 31 miles filled with beauty and adventure!
