Continuing Ed Credits for Teachers
Did you know that teachers can get 2-3 continuing ed credits on 5 different canoe trips this summer? Centennial Canoe and the Colorado School of Mines partner to offer courses on the river. Here’s the list for the summer of 2008:
- Astronomy in the Wilderness on the Colorado River, Aug. 1-3 ($397 student price for 2 credits)
- Geology on the Gunnison River, June 13-15 ($397 student price for 2 credits)
- Geology on the Green River, July 30-Aug. 3 ($663 student price for 3 credits)
- Riparian Ecosystems on the Gunnison River, June 27-29, partnered with the Denver Zoo ($397 student price for 2 credits)
- Western Water Ways on the Colorado River, July 18-20 ($397 student price for 2 credits)
Former participants in Level I of the Astronomy and Geology courses can qualify for Level II credit by completing a special project to be determined by the instructor and conducted concurrently with the basic class offering. This allows you to sign up for the course a second time!
