Trip Overview

San Juan Island sea kayaking has over 200 rocky, forested islands to explore, the San Juan Archipelago in Washington state, just south of the Canadian border, and is a superb kayak destination. You’ll experience the fun of paddling and camping on remote islands accessible only by boat! Harking back to an earlier time, the islands were used by the native Lummi and Swinomish tribes as summer fishing camps. The pristine waters of the San Juan and Gulf Islands are host to over 80 resident Orca whales. Other wildlife sightings may include minke whales, Dall’s porpoises, seals and eagles.

The San Juan Islands are home to an eclectic mix of artists, industry, and tourism. The beautiful environment, temperate weather and fascinating variety of marine mammals and bird species all add to the allure of the islands. Stepping off the ferry in Friday Harbor, you instantly feel the age of this ancient rock; it really is a different world. Islanders have a deep appreciation for the environment. This connection to the land and water echoes of times past, but not forgotten.

Your San Juan Island sea kayaking trip will include top quality sea kayak equipment, experienced naturalist guides and mouth-watering cuisine. We invite you to join us in San Juan Island kayaking.  Price does not include airfare, ferry transportation to Friday Harbor or pre-trip lodging.
