Colorado canoeing on the Gunnison River will spark your sense of adventure with opportunities for hiking and exploring, floating in your lifejacket and camping along the river’s edge. During this 31-mile Colorado canoe trip, you will be dwarfed by high walls of red sandstone and shale deposited during the age of the dinosaurs.  These canyons in the Colorado Plateau are truly magnificent and not soon forgotten. Massive cottonwoods stand on many river bends supporting the huge nests of blue herons, hawks and eagles. Time permitting, you may hike into Dominguez Canyon, Colorado’s newest designated Wilderness Area, one of the most beautiful stops on the river. Hiking into the canyon will reveal deep, cool swimming holes, waterfalls and many ancient Indian petroglyphs (rock art panels).

For this trip, we are partnering with Sauvage Spectrum Winery (Palisade, CO) for an unique and exciting experience. Situated along the Colorado River, the high-altitude meso-climates and volcanic soils of the area's vineyards contribute to the rich color, intense fruit flavors and robust character that make Palisade wines unique. We will have a representative from Sauvage Spectrum on the trip to discuss their wines and provide tastings each evening.

Sauvage Spectrum is 100% estate-grown Colorado wine.  Using minimal intervention to produce a wide selection of award-winning nuanced wines, from traditional sparkling, natural sparkling, rosés, chillable reds, and big, bold blockbuster reds.  They truly have something for everyone!
