What to Bring on Your One Day Trip

a. What We Provide

  • Boats / paddles / lifejackets/ straps for securing gear in boats
  • Chemically treated porta-potty, privacy tent, & supplies
  • Several community dry bags for your gear (3.8 cu.ft.:16" diameter x 33" tall)
  • Kitchen gear and utensils
  • Drinking water & lemonade
  • First aid kit and rescue equipment
  • 2-3 Guides

b. Items to Wear or Keep Accessible in Your Day Backpack in Your Boat

Consider storing them in zip lock bags to keep them dry.

You may wish to check the weather (www.weather.com) and add warmer clothes if it will be cool.

  • Insect repellent
  • Secure sandals with ankle strap or tennis shoes that can get wet
  • Sunglasses with strap
  • Sun hat preferably with chin strap
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Swimsuit or moisture-wicking underwear under your shirt and shorts; you may choose either short or long-sleeved shirt and shorts or long pants.
  • Rain jacket and pants (waterproof); optional fleece jacket
  • Wide-mouth, refillable personal water bottle (approximately 24+ oz. like a Nalgene or a Camel Bak). We will provide the water.

Any essential valuables (purses, wallets, cell phones, etc.) should not be left in your car. It is better to pack them securely in your dry bag (preferably inside a zip lock bag) and take them on the river. Centennial Canoe is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings.

c. Optional

  • Camera in a camera dry bag or two zip lock bags
  • Zip lock bags to help waterproof your gear
  • Binoculars
  • Paddle gloves
  • Soda pop/ drinks/ snacks
  • Medium-size cooler: 24-28 qt. (use ice blocks - not cubes!)
  • Pocket knife
  • Seat cushion
  • Water Blaster (gun) may be purchased on our website.

d. Don’t Bring

  • Jewelry
  • Pets
  • Firearms or fireworks
  • Unprotected, expensive cameras
  • Your trip is conducted on federal land where marijuana is illegal. Please do not bring unlawful drugs on your adventure. Let nature get you high.
